How solar lowers your bill

Solar panels make electricity from sunlight. Here is what happens at your house over one day.

  1. In the daytime, sunshine runs your home

    Your aircon, electric fans, ref and TV run on power from your roof. You buy less from BILECO, so your bill goes down.

  2. At night, BILECO runs your home

    No sun, no solar. At night you use BILECO power, the same as now. That is why solar cuts part of your bill, not all of it.

  3. In a brownout, panels alone switch off

    This is a safety rule that protects linemen working on the line. To keep lights, fans and WiFi on during a brownout, you add a battery. We price it separately, so you decide.

Because solar only covers the power you use while the sun is up, our estimates give a range: usually about a third to just over half of the bill. Try your own bill.

Is solar worth it for your home?

We work with families in Biliran who own their house. Here is a quick way to check.

Solar makes the most sense if

  • You own the house, or the owner agrees.
  • Your BILECO bill is ₱2,500 a month or more. The bigger the bill, the more you save.
  • Your family uses a lot of power in the daytime: aircon, fans, ref, washing machine.

It may not be worth it yet if

  • Your bill is under ₱2,500 a month. Solar would take a long time to pay for itself.

How much will I save?
It depends on how much power your family uses in the daytime, because that is the part solar replaces. For most bills our estimate is about a third to just over half off. Type your bill to see your own number, and we confirm it at the free home visit.
How much does it cost?
It depends on your roof and how much power you use, so we give you one fixed price in writing after the free home visit. It covers the panels, the installation, the permits and the paperwork. Nothing is added later, and you pay nothing until you approve it.
Can I pay in installments?
Ask us. Tick the installment box on the form and we will tell you honestly what is available to you, and what it would cost per month, so you can compare it with your bill.
Will solar keep my lights on during a brownout?
Only with a battery. Solar panels alone switch off when BILECO power goes out. It's a safety rule that protects linemen working on the line. If brownouts are your main problem, tell us and we will price a battery separately. Anyone who says panels alone will keep your lights on is not telling you the truth.
Will it survive a typhoon?
We bolt the panel rails into your roof's beams (the rafters), not just into the metal sheets, and seal every hole against rain. We would rather fit fewer panels properly than more panels that could come loose.
How do I know you're not a scam?
Good question. Ask it of every installer. MACC Systems & Energy Solutions Inc. is registered with the SEC (Reg. No. 2026080263439-51, 11 August 2026), and you can check that yourself. Our engineer's PRC licence number is on this page. And you pay nothing until you approve the written quote. The photos on this page are our own team on a real job in Caibiran, not stock pictures.
Do you handle the permits?
Yes. The electrical permit and the BILECO paperwork are part of the job, not an extra. If you want to know about selling extra power back to BILECO, ask us and we will tell you exactly where that stands.
What if something breaks?
Call us. We are here on the island. The panels and inverter come with the manufacturer's warranty, and we handle the claim for you here.
